Welcome to the 2012 ORG Board elections page. This is your chance to help ORG remain successful and accountable.

Who is being elected

Three members of ORG's Board are being elected to serve three years. Other Board members are appointed by the Board to make sure there is a balance of skills, contacts and experience.

Who is standing


Nominations for the Board were open until 9am on Tuesday March 20 2012. A hustings took place at ORGCon on 24 March.

Elections statements, photos will be collected shortly, and ballot papers will be sent out by 11 May. The count will take place on 16 June, and ballot paprs must be returned by 12 June.

What the Board does

The Board is the governing body of the Open Rights Group, and meets every two months. It appoints the Executive Director, oversees the work and strategy of the organisation, ensures that we fulfill our aims and objectives, and grows in size and effectiveness. They appoint the Advisory Council to help with policy. They approve the annual accounts and deal with our legal duties as a company. Board members are also welcome to attend Advisory Council meetings and help with the professional work of the organisation.

Who can vote

Any paid up supporter of the Open Rights Group can vote. If you are donating a regular sum, then you are counted as an ORG supporter.

Elections Committee

Jim Killock. as Executive Director, is acting as the Electoral Returning Officer. An elections committee of three ORG supporters, Rob Myers, David Gerard and Terence Eden, is supervising the work. You can contact them if you have any questions or complaints.
