Email your candidates about the Digital Economy Act

Thank you everyone who helped to show how controversial and bad the Digital Economy Act is. We didn’t stop the Bill becoming law: but we have made politicians understand how unpopular disconnecting people would be; and shown that it would be a breach of human rights.
There are other ways we have won as well. We have built a movement. Over 20,000 people write letters actions, and are ready to do so again. People also joined ORG, and their – maybe your – generous donations mean we will be better equipped to fight this Act, and future abuses. This is a very serious achievement.
We aren’t about to stop. Today, we are asking you to email your candidates, through a new ORG Action tool. We are able to put these campaigning tools in place because ORG is growing.
We have a week and a half to email as many candidates as possible and ask them to commit to stopping the worst of the Digital Economy Act. With a new parliament, younger MPs, several parties recognising our concerns and the prospect of coalition government, we have every reason to expect different attitudes from our new representatives.

I am curious to know if I MP is in favour of this act as this is just another example of the Government, penalising the average person whilst rewarding Corporations and the rich and powerful.

One such example of this is Non doms not having to pay tax, whilst working here and using UK facilities.

Another example is the bankers bailout with my money but do the bankers repay what they owe? Nope they just award themselves massive bonuses.

At the moment my vote is still undecided but I am sure it will not be Conversative or Labour, who both rushed the Digital Economy Bill through without any proper discussion.

Its time to wake up guys the days of you shafting the voters in the belief, that we have a short memory and you are too powerful are coming to an end.

The average person in the street is sick of your behaviour and will vote to remove you from power on May the 6th.
