Yva Alexandrova Meadway

Immigration Policy Manager

Yva leads the work on Immigration Policy for ORG which is looking into the increasing collection of personal data, data sharing and new technologies driving immigration controls. Her work is aimed at empowering organisations in the migrant and refugee sector to engage with data and digital technologies so as to better support people on the move as their lives are increasingly controlled by technology. It also aims to support the sector to become effective advocates on changes in tech policies that affect their work.

Previously she led the policy and campaigns work on immigration, asylum and integration at the UK charity Asylum Aid. She also worked on a European migration policy dialogue at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna, among others.

Yva holds an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), an MA in International Relations from the Central European University (CEU) and a BA in International Relations from the University of Economy in her home city of Sofia, Bulgaria.
