DCMS have been continuing their meetings with rights holders and intermediaries about voluntary co-regulation agreements to tackle copyright infringement online. We've blogged many times about these before. There have been discussions about new website blocking measures, around action that could be taken by ad networks, and about additional powers over search engines.
Open Rights Group have been critical of the narrow range of perspectives represented in these meetings, and of the less than open process.
This FoI release relates to the roundtable held on February 28th 2012, which looked at proposals for how search engines can do more to tackle copyright infringement. The meeting follows initial proposals made by rights holders, which we wrote about earlier in the year.
