We need 500 new members to permanently expand our legal team

ORG Legal Director Myles Jackman at the Royal Court of Justice

Open Rights Group's small legal team fights hard to protect human rights in the digital age. We’ve seen triumphs at the Court of Justice of the European Union and held the government to account at the European Court of Human Rights. 2017 alone saw success on issues like government surveillance, data retention and data protection.

But legal battles require a sustained effort and new challenges loom in 2018. The only way we can meet them all is by expanding our legal team. With 500 new ORG supporters we'll be able to add another permanent member of staff and confidently:

  • challenge unjust digital censorship and threats to free speech online.
  • oppose the Digital Economy Act's rollout of age verification (AV) technology that threatens digital privacy.
  • fight for better data protection laws for UK citizens.
  • challenge the Government's mass surveillance programme in the courts

Can you join ORG today to help us win the fight for our rights online?
