Talk:Curriculum
From CreativeBusiness
- Should we make room in the curriculum for advertising? Although i flinch when advertising is inflicted by greedy multinationals, its not always so offensive. Contextual and non-instrusive advertising is an obvious income stream for any web-related project.
- Should we make room in the curriculum for the notion of the online toolkit? Lone artists who are happy to handle their own business affairs, although less common than artists who prefer an agent / manager and teams of marketing specialists to handle their biz, can increasingly use online tools to manage their affairs.
- I'm thinking about things like docstoc here
- Should the case-studies be scaleable? I think not; surely its enough these businesses can support a single entrepreneur?
- Brief history of the 'freebie'? As its not a new practice for the digital era:
- Magazines use covermount cds or software or makeup or whatever they can find to sell copies.
- Art galleries give away wine at openings to ensure a good turnout. They also give away postcards.
- At the recent ULU freshers fair, many many stalls were dishing out goodies to the students to raise goodwill
- Record companies manufacture promotional CDs / cassettes / vinyls, for DJs to play on radio or in the clubs. They also send them to journalists and anyone who's likely to talk about and hype up their latest release. No doubt many many other firms use this promotional strategy. Examples?
