John Buckman and Magnatune

Posted by Michael in Project organisation at May 16th, 2008

This project sought to show that open approaches to intellectual property are a smart choice for practitioners working in the creative industries. Our case study of John Buckman and Magnatune analyses the many benefits associated with applying openness to the recording industry.

The audio recording below was made in March 2008 and features John in discussion with Suw Charman and our seminar attendees. John talks about his experience and successes in building a record label around Creative Commons licences and the open paradigm.

And below is our case study on Magnatune for you to use and repurpose.
