Comment Moderation

If system is set up so that comments need to be moderated then it leaves the user with the impression that the comment hasn’t been submitted. Have changed the settings so that comments aren’t moderated. Potential spam issue though.

Markup

Any element that’s not a paragraph breaks the system. Need to find and edit the code that adds @class = “content” to each element.

Front Page

themes/comments/index.php has been edited so that only posts categorised as ‘General’ will be published in full on the home page. This is to avoid confusion (because posts can’t be commented on there) and also because many of the consultation documents are likely to be unsuitably long for the home page.

Instead, for any post not categorised ‘General’ a pseudo-post titled ‘New Document’ will be published on the home page, containing a link to the real, commentable post.

Content MIA

When combined, the amended WP Commentable Blocks plugin and ORG Comments System theme cause the blog to break in oh-so-many ways…   Temporary problem, fixed by upgrading PHP to v5+
