ORG Issue: e-Voting

e-Voting is the process of using computerised systems in statutory elections, both to cast and count votes (e-counting). e-Voting and e-counting open up elections to risks of fraud on a much greater scale than paper and pencil-based systems. Current technology means that e-voting cannot deliver transparent, verifiable and anonymous elections. Despite this, the Ministry of Justice is preparing for an “e-enabled” general election as soon as 2009.
