I am just e-mailing to be cheeky - but have you thought about out-sourcing to a virtual P.A. service (namely me!)? We are a pay as you go service, so you would not be responsible for all the on-costs (NI, sickness and holidays etc...).
Just a thought...! I would love the opportunity to discuss this with you further. I am on 01603 858222

I am surprised to see the Open Rights Group is using Quickbooks and presumably Windows OS. Surely you should be championing open source software and operating systems?

Wendy Norman - thanks but preference is for the Administrator to be located with us in the office.
Richard Lyons - Fair point. We use tools that will aid organisational efficiency and efficacy, which makes us good value to the people that donate to keep us campaign campaigning. In practice that has meant we're platform agnostic and run various OS in the office, including Windows OS but also Ubuntu and Mac OS.

Just clicked on the job description link and it wasn't working. Good on you for the agnostic stance. I suppose you couldn't really be more extreme and go platform athiest and deny the existance of platforms. Wouldn't using multiple platforms actually make you more of a platform-polytheist, though?
Apologies. Just never had an excuse to use that line until now.

I was happy to notice just now that you're using MODx.
Awesome CMS.
